Viewing models in AR

When viewing a p3d.in model on a compatible Android or iOS device, a new control button will appear. Clicking this will display your model in augmented reality.

Enabling or disabling AR support

When editing model click on the Customize tab and scroll down to Augmented Reality settings.

Please note that it may take several minutes for Augmented Reality model to become available after saving your model.

Model requirements

Model needs to fit specific requirements to qualify for AR due to iOS and Android AR viewer limitations. You will see list of errors if your model is incompatible.

Model must have:

  • Less than 750 000 vertices and faces
  • Less than 16 materials
  • Less than 8 textures (Roughness, metalness and ambient occlusion are counted only as one texture per material)
  • Only supported material types (PBR, Shadeless, Classic)
There are also other less common limitations that will be displayed in the Augmented Reality settings panel if these apply.

Model scale

Augmented Reality models are displayed using metric system real world units. If you want your model to appear in correct size, use real world units when exporting the model.

By default model scale is limited between 0.1 - 1.5m . You can use Custom option to manually adjust model size or allow even larger models if needed.
