►Dimensions: Diameter - 6.6 cm, height - 2.7 cm
►Description: Cylinder-shaped trinket ceramic, mainly dirty white with a faded orange and a green collar on the top of the ceramic with black dots below it. A stamp on the underside of the ceramic says "Nippon", and matches the Meito China or Crown mark produced after 1908 by Nogoya Seito Sho Ltd. (https://nipponcollectorsclub.com/backstamps/)
The form/function of the model is unknown.
►Accession number: WO26 ('WO' refers to a sample area from the excavation).
►Provenance: Recovered from a salvage excavation in the early 1980s in Vancouver's Chinatown, which took place due to the demolition of a parking lot. The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden was later constructed at this location (information provided by Stanley Copp). Nippon wares were manufactured in Japan from 1890-1921, and exported primarily to Europe and the United States (https://nipponcollectorsclub.com)
►Condition: The inside is slightly dirty; mainly on the outer edges, the outside sides have significant fingerprint smudges. Underneath has substantial scratches.
