► Description: Replica skull of Sahelanthropus tchadensis. The original fossil nicknamed Toumai, was found in Chad in 2001 by Michael Brunet and his team. Dating back to 6-7 Million Years Ago, it is currently thought to be the oldest recorded hominid, or potentially it could be an ancestor to the modern day gorilla.
