Powerhouse Bathhouse 3D Model, Hafod-Morfa Copperworks
The 1920s Bathhouse discovered on the site of the Penderyn Whisky Visitor Centre during our investigations at the Hafod-Morfa Copperworks. In line with the increased strengthening of the Factory and Workshop Act employers were obliged to provide factory workers with facilities such as washrooms, canteens and other welfare facilities. The bath house was constructed of reused pre-1850s bricks with a modern red brick frontage and a gable roof featuring a raised skylight. Internally the bath house featured twelve shower trays, toilets and urinals and a probable locker room, and fixtures and fittings within the shower room. An extension containing a toilet block was added in the 1940s to the south.
