Pwll-y-Llygod is Wales' oldest rail bridge and the second oldest in the world. Built between 1768-70, the bridge formed one part of a rail and canal link from the coal mines of the Gwendraeth Valley to Ythyn Frenig Quay, down river from Kidwelly.
